Dolton, IL (September 23, 2020) – There were injuries reported following a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck in the Dolton area on Monday, September 21.
The accident occurred on the Bishop Ford Freeway (Interstate 94) near Sibley Boulevard according to reports from the Illinois State Police. According to local sources, a semi-truck hauling 48,000 pounds of sheet metal overturned while traveling southbound on the highway. All lanes on I-94 SB were blocked while emergency responders were present.
The crash occurred for unknown reasons at around 2:30 a.m. At least one person at the scene of the crash reportedly sustained injuries. No further updates on the accident are available at this time.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local authorities.
