Chicago, IL (August 28, 2020) – Early Thursday morning, August 27, a woman was killed after being hit by a Metra train near the Gladstone Park area of Chicago.
A Metra spokesperson revealed that the victim was hit by the outbound train no. 603 at around 6:15 a.m. The woman was identified as a woman in her 50s. She was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident near the Northwest Highway.
Following the accident, all inbound and outbound trains on the Metra UP-NW line service were halted. The identity of the deceased party has not been provided at this time. No further information on the accident is currently available.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials. More details on the accident will be provided as it continues.
