Peoria, IL – Officer Seriously Injured at Sterling Ave & Bainter Ln

Peoria, IL (February 15, 2020) – A Peoria police officer was injured following a three-vehicle collision in Peoria on Tuesday, February 11th. The officer was responding to a call when they were involved in a crash near the intersection of Sterling Avenue and Bainter Lane at around 7:30 a.m. The crash occurred when a vehicle made a left turn onto Bainter Lane, striking the officer’s vehicle.

A third vehicle was also involved in the crash. The officer and the driver that made the turn were both injured. The PPD officer was taken to OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center with serious injuries.

Local authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
