Peru, IL - Wrong-Way Crash Injures 3 At IL-251 & Shooting Park Rd

Peru, IL (January 18, 2020) - Three people were injured following a wrong-way crash in Peru, Illinois on Tuesday, January 14th. The crash took place near the corner of IL-251 and Shooting Park Road at around 9:16 p.m. Sources revealed that a vehicle driven by Emilia M Garza, 69, of Alton, Texas collided head-on with another vehicle after veering into oncoming traffic. 

Garza struck a car driven by a 16-year-old La Salle resident, who was taken to St. Margaret's Hospital in Spring Valley, Illinois for treatment. Both Garza and her passenger, Roman Garza, 69, were transported to Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru. No updates on the conditions of the injured parties are available at this time.

An investigation into the cause of the crash is currently in progress.
