Hit-and-runs are traumatic events. They overwhelmingly impact pedestrians and cyclists who are unable to pursue the at-fault driver. Sadly, many victims are killed in the aftermath of a severe hit-and-run collision.

On average, a hit-and-run happens every 43 seconds across the country. 2016 experienced the highest rate of deadly hit-and-runs ever recorded, with 2,049 confirmed deaths. In some cases, surviving family members are able to recover lost compensation with the help of an Illinois wrongful death attorney.
