Chicago, IL – 7 Injured In Crash With CTA Bus At Damen Ave & Taylor St

Chicago, IL (January 16, 2020) – A suspected drunk driver struck a CTA bus on Wednesday, January 15th, in Chicago. The crash resulted in seven people being taken to the hospital. The collision took place in the Tri-Taylor neighborhood near the intersection of Damen Avenue and Taylor Street. 

At around 11:30 p.m., a black BMW X3 was speeding down Damen Avenue SB when it collided with a CTA bus making a left turn onto Taylor Street. The BMW came to a stop after hitting a pole. Of the 13 passengers on the bus, five men and two women were transported to Stroger Hospital.

The man, described only as a 26 year old, that was driving the BMW was taken into custody under suspicion of DUI. An investigation into the crash is currently in progress.
