Plainfield, IL - UPDATE: Victim Identified In Fatal Crash On IL-126

Plainfield, IL (November 28, 2019) - The identity of a semi-driver who was killed in a collision near Plainfield, Illinois on Sunday, November 24th, has been released. The accident took place in rural Kendall County on IL-126 near the intersection of Ridge Rd. The driver of the semi caused a three-vehicle collision after running a red light at the intersection.

The deceased trucker has been identified as Edmond Erickson, 74, of Sandwich, Illinois. A Dodge driven by a 63-year-old Bolingbrook man was struck by the semi, causing him and his 73-year-old female passenger to be injured. The semi then rolled onto a Nissan Sentra that was stopped at the intersection.

No other injuries were reported. Local authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the crash.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of Edmond Erickson at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.

Illinois Semi-Truck Accidents

Thumbnail image for Thumbnail image for PFMstock-58.jpgSemi-truck drivers are often on the road for long periods of time. They are often trying to meet strict deadlines. This causes them to drive while fatigued and less able to make reasonable decisions.

This delayed reaction time can be deadly in the event of a crash. More than 4,000 people were killed in accidents involving large trucks in 2017. The size and weight of these vehicles make them extremely dangerous in the event of a crash.
