Chicago Head-On Crashes

PFMstock6-117.jpgThe injuries caused by head-on collisions are largely unparalleled. These accidents involve two vehicles that are traveling toward each other -- often at high rates of speed. The forces involved can result in devastating injuries for those involved.

7 percent of all fatal collisions in large urban areas such as Chicago involve head-on crashes. These crashes often happen when a driver veers into oncoming traffic. In other cases, confusing roadway design is a factor.
