National Work Zone Awareness Week

| Apr 18, 2019 | Uncategorized

Illinois residents know that spring means the start of a busy road construction season. It can seem like every road around the state has some kind of construction going on with it. Drivers in Illinois need to understand the importance of driving safely as these construction workers have a dangerous job.

National Work Zone Awareness Week is upon us in Illinois. The Illinois State Patrol and construction workers are asking Illinois drivers to drive carefully in construction zones. They want drivers to drive like they work in the construction zones and picture themselves as the construction workers. Illinois State Patrol will be increasing patrols in construction zones and using speed vans with cameras to catch drivers who are breaking the law. Construction workers are also urging drivers to not engage in distracted driving.

Construction workers have some of the most dangerous jobs in Illinois. These workers do important work but are also put in harm’s way every day. If a construction worker has been injured or killed on the job, they may want to speak with a legal professional skilled in work-related deaths. An attorney can investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident and help determine what happened. A family who has been affected by a construction accident has suffered tremendous pain and loss. These families may be eligible for compensation for medical expenses, funeral expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering and other damages.

No one expects their loved one to be involved in a construction accident. Unfortunately, many families are affected by construction accidents each year. These accidents may be caused by another person’s negligence and families have the right to hold them responsible.
