13-year-old boy stuck and killed in car crash in Isanti

| Oct 30, 2013 | Uncategorized

The area in Illinois’ regional neighbor, Minnesota, called Cambridge is mourning the death of a young victim killed in an automobile accident. While some peaceful residents live their lives quietly and without public notice, this is not so in the case of the young man whose death will be felt for some time.

Both friends and family are mourning the tragic loss that occurred as the young man was riding his bicycle to a friend’s house. According to reports, a second teenaged driver was operating a Pontiac Grand Am, and crossing the intersection of Hillary Circle and 329th Street near his residence when the accident took place.

The young victim was one of four brothers and sisters, as well as part of a triplet. The grieving family is attempting to deal with the terrible loss that has torn their tight-knit community, family and social circles apart. Many residents are still incredulous that the boy is gone. In a world of troubled teens, the accident victim was popular and well-known in his school and neighborhood.

An avid sports player, the young man was an athlete. He was active at the Baptist Church, where he was an active member of the youth group. A spokesperson for the church released a statement his life imparted goodness and positive energy to all. They are heartbroken and suffering a deep loss.

Likewise, friends and members of the church family are turning to their faith to help them through this most difficult time. They are sending prayers to the young man who caused the accident, also a student in the neighborhood.

In times like these, we seek clarity to the confusion engulfing us. We struggle to deal with tragedy. The neighborhood has stood together as a unit so they can support each other during this trying time.

The driver causing the accident stayed behind to give a report to authorities and seemed reluctant to and he is cooperating with authorities, before being released to his parents. While these actions do not bring back the star student, the unity comes with a common way to manage life’s tragedies. The 16-year-old driver, who has not yet been identified, will be after the investigation into the crash is complete. No arrests or citations have been issued at this time. Still under investigation, highway officials will continue to do the best they can to keep the roads safe and prevent incidents of this type of car accident. This applies to everyone, but most especially to our young people with so much more life to live.
