Springfield, IL (May 21, 2020) – There was a confirmed collision reported in the Springfield area on Wednesday afternoon, May 20th. Local authorities were notified of the collision at around 2:24 p.m. The cause of the accident isn’t known at this time.

Local reports indicated that the accident took place on I-55 SB near mile marker 96. There were reported lane closures following the accident. At this time, the severity of the resulting injuries hasn’t been reported.

Local law enforcement officials are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
