Waukegan, IL (November 3, 2020) – On Friday, October 30, a Waukegan man was killed after a head-on collision.
Local sources revealed that the deadly accident occurred near the intersection of N. McAree Road and Sycamore Drive. At around 7:20 p.m., the driver of a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze traveling northbound on McAree Road when his vehicle veered into oncoming traffic, colliding with a 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse.
The driver of the Cruze sustained critical injuries and was transported to a nearby medical facility where he was later pronounced dead. He has not been identified at this time but was reportedly a man in his 20s. The driver of the Eclipse, another man from Waukegan, sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized. No further information on the crash has been provided.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
