Spring Valley, IL (November 4, 2020) – Five people reportedly suffered injuries in a two-vehicle collision at an intersection in the Spring Valley area on Monday, November 2.
The crash reportedly occurred near the intersection of IL-89 and N. 850th Road at around 11:45 p.m. that evening. Local authorities reported that an 18-year-old Peru man was traveling with three passengers north on 850th Road at the time of the crash. For unknown reasons, he allegedly ran a stop sign at IL-89 and was hit by a southbound vehicle.
The 32-year-old Varna man traveling in the other vehicle suffered injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The driver and three occupants of the first vehicle were also injured and hospitalized. No further information on the crash is currently available.
An ongoing investigation into the accident is being managed by the Illinois State Police.
