Spring Bay, IL (November 3, 2020) – Local authorities have released the identity of a man who was killed in Spring Bay on Friday, October 30, following a collision with a commercial truck.
The accident reportedly occurred near the intersection of IL-26 and Eichhorn Road. Local reports revealed that a man, identified as 51-year-old Gary Johnson of Peoria, Illinois, was riding a go-cart at the time of the deadly accident. For unknown reasons, Johnson was struck by an oncoming semi-truck.
Johnson sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics. At this time, the identity of the truck driver has not been revealed. No further information on the crash is available at this time.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly accident is underway.
