Certain types of collisions are more likely to result in fatal injuries. Statistics show that head-on crashes have a nearly 58% fatality rate, considerably higher than other types of accidents. Despite only making up around 2% of reported car crashes nationwide, head-on crashes are involved in nearly 10% of reported roadway fatalities each year.
