Deadly Rollover Crashes in Illinois

Peoria, IL - One Killed in Two-Car Accident at Rochelle Ln & Reservoir Blvd

Certain types of car accidents are more likely to result in life-threatening injuries. Rollovers were only involved in an estimated 2.1% of reported passenger vehicle accidents in 2010. However, that same year, rollovers were involved in nearly 35% of deadly passenger car crashes, contributing to over 7,600 deaths that year. Of those killed in rollover accidents in 2010, an estimated 69% were unrestrained at the time of the accident.

The grief and devastation of losing a loved one due to another’s negligence are nearly unbearable. Surviving family members often take on damages resulting from the accident, and they may be able to recover lost compensation by pursuing a wrongful death claim with the help of an experienced Illinois personal injury attorney. In an Illinois wrongful death claim, a representative of the decedent’s estate — usually a close family member — seeks damages from those at fault for the person’s death to obtain compensation for damages.
