Peoria, IL (November 25, 2020) – An elderly man was killed after being hit by a sport-utility vehicle in Peoria on Monday evening, November 23.
At around 5:52 p.m., officials from the Peoria Police Department were dispatched to the site of the crash at the 8500 block of Knoxville Avenue. Local authorities reported that a pedestrian was crossing the roadway near Picture Ridge Road at the time of the accident. Witnesses from the scene claimed that the man was then struck by an SUV.
Despite life-saving measures at the scene and at a nearby hospital, the injured pedestrian was pronounced dead. The driver of the SUV was then involved in another collision down the road. All involved parties remained at the scene.
The identity of the deceased victim has not been revealed at this time. An ongoing investigation into the crash is currently underway.
