Macon Co, IL – Virginia Ripple Injured in Deadly DUI Crash on IL-121

Macon Co, IL (November 27, 2020) – A fatal collision was reported in Macon County on Thanksgiving evening, November 26. 

The deadly crash reportedly occurred on IL-121 just south of McDonald Road. According to local sources, 50-year-old Richard Brown of Clinton, Illinois was driving a silver 2012 GMC northbound on the highway when the vehicle crossed over the centerline for unknown reasons. The vehicle collided head-on with a white 2011 Toyota. 

Both vehicles crashed into a nearby ditch. The driver of the Toyota, a 48-year-old Bethany man, suffered fatal injuries at the scene. The passenger in the Toyota, 33-year-old Virginia Ripple, was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Brown was cited for improper lane usage and driving under the influence of alcohol. 

An ongoing investigation into the deadly crash is currently underway.
