Kendall Co, IL – Pankaj Gupta Injured in DUI Crash at Ridge Rd & US-52

Kendall Co, IL (November 26, 2020) – A Naperville couple and their child were injured in a serious collision involving an alleged drunk driver in Kendall County on Wednesday, November 25. 

Local authorities were dispatched to the scene of the crash at the intersection of Ridge Road and US-52 in the Seward Township area at around 12:20 a.m. that morning. Local sources revealed that 41-year-old Pankaj Gupta and 43-year-old Deepti Gupta of Naperville, Illinois were traveling with their infant when they were struck by a vehicle driven by 37-year-old William O. Merlos Diaz of Chicago. 

All three passengers traveling in the first vehicle were taken to Saint Joseph’s Medical Center in Joliet by Minooka Fire Protection District paramedics. Diaz was cited for driving under the influence. No further information is currently available at this time. 

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
