Gallatin Co, IL (November 2, 2020) – Two passengers were injured on Monday, November 2, following a collision in Gallatin County.
The collision reportedly occurred at around 12:53 a.m. near the intersection of Ty Williams Drive and Calhoun Street in Equality, Illinois. Emergency responders were called to the scene of a crash with injuries. Local reports revealed that 26-year-old Thomas Pyle of Equality was traveling on the roadway when he crashed after swerving to avoid a deer.
The vehicle left the roadway and collided with a tree. Pyle was uninjured in the crash, but both his passengers suffered injuries in the collision and were transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment. Trevor Folk, 23, of Harrisburg, Illinois suffered life-threatening injuries, and 30-year-old Wendell Burger of Harrisburg was also injured.
Pyle was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and for driving on the wrong side of the road. An ongoing investigation into the crash is currently underway.
