Effingham Co, IL (November 19, 2020) – Two people were injured after a collision involving a semi-truck in Effingham County on Wednesday morning, November 18.
The crash reportedly occurred in the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 near milepost 91. At around 5 a.m. that morning, the driver of the rig left the roadway and struck a guardrail. The commercial truck re-entered the roadway before colliding with an IDOT message board.
The driver and passenger inside the 18-wheeler were injured and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The identities of the injured parties have been revealed at this time. No further information on the crash is currently available.
An ongoing investigation into the accident is currently underway.
