Chicago, IL – Two CPD Officers Injured in Crash at in Garfield Park

Chicago, IL (November 14, 2020) – Two officers with the Chicago Police Department were injured after being struck by a sport-utility vehicle in the East Garfield Park area on Thursday evening, November 12. 

Local sources revealed that were driving at around 10:30 p.m. that night when their patrol vehicle was struck. According to initial reports, the driver of an SUV ran a stop sign and collided with the patrol car. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene to render aid to the injured parties. 

Both officers were transported to a nearby hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. The driver of the SUV was cited at the scene for various traffic violations. No further information on the accident is currently available. 

An ongoing investigation into the crash is currently underway.
