Chicago, IL (November 2, 2020) – A 73-year-old man suffered critical injuries after being struck in a pedestrian hit-and-run in the Hyde Park area on Monday, November 2.
Initial reports revealed that the crash occurred in the 5500 block of S. Lake Park Avenue. At around 11:15 a.m., the man was struck by a minivan while crossing the street. Emergency responders were called to the site of the accident to render aid to the injured party.
The driver of the gold Chrysler Town and Country fled the scene without providing aid. The injured pedestrian was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center for the treatment of sustained injuries. No further information on the crash has been provided.
An ongoing investigation into the accident is currently underway.
