St Charles, IL (October 11, 2020) – An 88-year-old woman was killed after being struck in a hit-and-run accident in St. Charles on Friday, October 9.
According to reports from local authorities, the woman was crossing at N. 3rd Street at the time of the deadly accident. The woman was in a wheelchair when she was hit by an oncoming vehicle on the roadway. The driver involved in the crash fled the scene without stopping to render aid.
The driver of the car was described as a white male in a black t-shirt. The vehicle involved in the accident is believed to be a 2016 Dodge Ram pickup truck. Authorities later found the driver, identified as 23-year-old Andrew J. Jensen of St. Charles, and took him into custody. At this time, no further information on the accident has been provided.
The identity of the deceased victim has not been provided. An ongoing investigation into the crash is underway.
