Romeoville, IL – Stanley Buchta Killed in Collision at IL-53 & Airport Rd

Romeoville, IL (October 24, 2020) – A 68-year-old Romeoville man was killed following a collision involving three vehicles near a construction zone on Thursday, October 22. 

The site of the crash was reportedly located near the intersection of IL-53 and Airport Road. Local reports revealed that Stanley R. Buchta of Romeoville was traveling on the highway in a Chevrolet Cruze at the time of the crash. For unknown reasons, Buchta was involved in a collision involving a Caterpillar Steam Roller and a Toyota Prius.

Buchta was pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics at around 7:04 p.m. that evening. The driver of the Steam Roller, identified as 58-year-old Marcus Magallanes, sustained injuries and was taken to Silver Cross Hospital for the treatment of sustained injuries. No further information on the deadly collision has been provided. 

An ongoing investigation into the accident is currently underway.
