Romeoville, IL – Pileup Crash with Injuries at Ridgewood Ave & Independence Blvd

Romeoville, IL (October 7, 2020) – A multi-vehicle accident resulted in confirmed injuries in the Romeoville area on Monday, October 5. 

The accident reportedly occurred near the intersection of Ridgewood Avenue and Independence Boulevard at around 12:05 p.m. that afternoon. According to local reports, a Chevrolet Trailblazer was facing west on Ridgewood Avenue, waiting for traffic to pass and make a left turn onto Independence Boulevard. The Chevy attempted to cross the intersection when it was hit by a southbound Mercedes. 

The Chevrolet overturned due to the impact, and the Mercedes veered right, striking a third vehicle, a Honda HRV. The Honda struck the median and overturned onto its roof. The occupants of the Chevrolet and the Honda were hospitalized for the treatment of sustained injuries. 

No charges have been filed at this time. An ongoing investigation into the accident is underway.
