Rockford, IL – Three Seriously Injured in House Fire on Furman St

Rockford, IL (October 9, 2020) – There were multiple injuries reported after a serious fire in a residential area of Rockford on Thursday, October 8. 

The fire reportedly occurred at a home at the 600 block of Furman Street. Firefighters responded to the scene at around 9:32 a.m. that morning. When emergency units arrived, many members of the family had already evacuated to the yard. 

One adult woman and a toddler reportedly sustained smoke inhalation injuries and were taken to a nearby medical facility. Both parties are reportedly in critical condition. A baby was also rescued from the scene and taken to a hospital for treatment. 

The damages resulting from the fire are estimated to be at around $13,000. An ongoing investigation into the fire is underway.
