Peoria, IL (October 8, 2020) – There were multiple injuries reported following a residential fire in Peoria on Monday, October 5. 

The Peoria Fire Department was called to the site of the blaze at around 10:30 p.m. that evening. The fire reportedly took place at a home located at the 1200 block of N. Sheridan Road. Firefighters entered the residence through the front door and alerted the residents. 

Those inside were unaware of the fire when firefighters arrived. There was heavy smoke coming from the attic. Investigators later reported that the fire was electrical. 

Two adults and four children at the scene were treated for sustained injuries. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
