Paxton, IL (October 14, 2020) – An early morning collision on Tuesday, October 13, in the Paxon area resulted in two people being killed.
The deadly car accident reportedly took place on Interstate 57 near milepost 266. Three vehicles were reportedly involved in the accident, including a Honda Civic, a semi-truck, and a Ford Fusion. The 26-year-old male driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene, along with the 21-year-old female passenger of the Ford.
Another passenger in the Ford was hospitalized for the treatment of life-threatening injuries. Two other drivers and another passenger were also transported to a medical facility for treatment. For unknown reasons, the Honda reportedly crossed the centerline, colliding with the Ford head-on. A nearby semi-truck also hit the Ford, causing the passengers to be ejected.
An ongoing investigation into the deadly car accident is underway.
