Deadly Head-On Accidents in Illinois
Head-on collisions are some of the most fatal types of crashes possible. Statistics show that these types of accidents have a nearly 58% fatality rate, much higher than other types of crashes. Head-on crashes are involved in an estimated 2% of car accidents each year and 10% of deadly collisions. In the majority of cases, head-on crashes are caused by the actions of negligent or reckless drivers.
The grief and devastation of losing a loved one due to another’s negligence are nearly unbearable. In an Illinois wrongful death claim, a representative of the decedent’s estate — usually a close family member — seeks damages from those at fault for the person’s death to obtain compensation for damages.
