Oregon, IL – Andrew Long Killed in DUI Accident on Washington St

Oregon, IL (October 17, 2020) – On Tuesday, October 13, a man was killed after being involved in a collision with an alleged drunk driver in Oregon. 

According to local reports, 37-year-old Andrew Long of Lead, Illinois was traveling in a 2007 Saturn when he was struck by a 2016 Dodge pickup truck driven by 33-year-old Scott Fisher of Mt. Morris, Illinois. For unknown reasons, Fisher’s truck crossed the centerline near the 1700 block of Washington Street, colliding head-on with Long’s vehicle. 

Local authorities revealed that the deadly accident occurred at around 8:35 p.m. that evening. Long sustained fatal injuries in the crash. Fisher was charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage, and failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision. 

No further information is available at this time. An ongoing investigation into the deadly accident is underway.
