Oak Forest, IL (October 15, 2020) – On Tuesday night, October 13, a man died following a two-vehicle collision in the Oak Forest area.
The accident reportedly occurred on Interstate 57 near 171st Street at around 11:20 p.m. According to local authorities, a Nissan Sentra collided with the rear of a Nissan Altima. Initial sources revealed that the driver of the Sentra, 44-year-old Alberto Gamez Jr. of Lockport, Illinois, was merging into the right lane when it struck the rear of the Altima, driven by 22-year-old Antwon X. Boswell of Chicago.
Gamez was taken to a nearby medical facility for the treatment of sustained injuries. A 23-year-old Chicago passenger in his vehicle sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead. A 20-year-old California woman traveling Boswell’s vehicle was also hospitalized.
An ongoing investigation into the accident is currently underway.
