Gurnee, IL – Woman Injured in Hit-&-Run Crash on Gould St

Gurnee, IL (October 7, 2020) – A woman was injured and a Gurnee man was arrested after a hit-and-run accident on Tuesday, October 6. 

According to local reports, the collision occurred at the 400 block of Gould Street. Emergency responders and law enforcement officials were called to the site of the crash at around 2:30 a.m. that morning. Local sources revealed that 24-year-old Cody Washington was traveling down the roadway when he struck a utility pole at an intersection. 

Washington fled the scene, leaving an injured female passenger. The vehicle was reportedly traveling at 100 miles per hour at the time of the crash. Washington was arrested on Wednesday morning, October 7, at around 7 a.m. 

The suspect was charged with multiple charges, including reckless driving, improper turn at an intersection, failure to give info or render aid, and leaving the scene of an accident with vehicle damage. 

An ongoing investigation into the accident is underway.
