Gallatin Co, IL (October 29, 2020) – Two people were injured following a rear-end collision in Gallatin County on Sunday, October 25.
Local sources revealed that the crash occurred near the intersection of IL-142 and Long Lane Road at around 5:24 p.m. Initial reports indicated that a 2019 white Dodge Charger driven by a teenage boy from Eldorado, Illinois was slowing on IL-142 SB to make a left turn onto Long Lane Road. For unknown reasons, a teenage girl from Harrisburg, Illinois driving a silver Chrysler 200 failed to slow down and rear-ended the Dodge.
The driver of the Chrysler and one of her passengers were injured in the collision and transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment. No other injuries were reported in the accident. The driver of the Chrysler was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
An ongoing investigation into the accident is currently in progress.
