Emden, IL (October 21, 2020) – On Monday, October 19, a Green Valley man was killed after being involved in a crash with a flatbed truck near Emden.
According to local authorities, the accident occurred in Logan County on the eastbound lanes of US-136 west of Interstate 155. Local reports revealed that a 46-year-old man traveling east on the highway in a 2013 gray Volkswagen Jetta. For unknown reasons, the vehicle collided with a flatbed trailer being towed by a 1992 Mack truck.
The truck was reportedly stopped in a construction zone. The driver of the vehicle sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
An ongoing investigation into the accident is currently underway.
