Elmhurst, IL (October 19, 2020) – A 23-year-old Wauconda man was killed and another man suffered life-threatening injuries following an accident in the Elmhurst area on Friday, October 16.
The crash reportedly occurred at the Interstate 290 overpass at Grand Avenue. According to local sources, 23-year-old Jack Giannini drove a Jeep off the I-290 overpass, landing on Grand Avenue and hitting another vehicle, a Ford. According to reports from the Illinois State Police, Giannini suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 54-year-old man driving the Ford suffered life-threatening injuries. He was taken to a nearby medical facility for the treatment of sustained injuries. No further information on the crash has been released at this time.
An ongoing investigation into the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
