Elco, IL (October 22, 2020) – A Missouri man was killed after being involved in a collision with a tractor-trailer near Elco on Tuesday, October 20.
According to local sources, a 65-year-old Charleston man was traveling south on IL-127 at the time of the accident. For unknown reasons, the driver crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a semi-truck. The impact occurred at around 2:39 p.m. that afternoon.
Both vehicles left the roadway and entered a nearby ditch. The driver of the passenger car, identified as James Bruenderman, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead. No further injuries were reported.
An ongoing investigation into the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
