Effingham Co, IL – Deborah Hendricks Killed in Head-On Crash on US-40

Effingham Co, IL (October 25, 2020) – A two-vehicle collision left one woman dead and another man injured in Effingham County on Saturday, October 24. 

The crash reportedly occurred on US-40 west of the Outer Belt West area. Local authorities were notified of the deadly accident at around 8 a.m. that morning. According to local sources, 67-year-old Deborah Hendricks was traveling eastbound on the highway at the time of the accident. 

For unknown reasons, Hendricks crossed the centerline on the roadway and collided head-on with a westbound pickup truck. Hendricks sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics. The other driver involved in the accident was transported to a medical facility for the treatment of sustained injuries. 

No further information on the crash has been provided. An ongoing investigation into the accident is currently underway.
