Collinsville, IL – Charles Abernathy Killed in Crash at Bluff Rd & Sumner Blvd

Collinsville, IL (October 26, 2020) – A multi-vehicle collision in Collinsville resulted in the death of a Caseyville man on Friday night, October 23. 

Local authorities were called to the site of the crash at around 7 p.m. that evening. For unknown reasons, three vehicles reportedly collided near the intersection of S. Bluff Road and Sumner Boulevard. A 32-year-old man involved in the crash suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead by the Madison County coroner.

The deceased victim was later identified as Charles C. Abernathy of Caseyville, Illinois. The occupants of the other two vehicles also sustained injuries and were hospitalized. No further information on the accident has been provided. 

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the collision is currently underway.
