Clay Co, IL – Jennifer Joyce Black Killed in Head-On Crash on US-50

Clay Co, IL (October 30, 2020) – One person was killed following a head-on crash involving a semi-truck in Clay County on Wednesday, October 28. 

The collision reportedly occurred on US-50 west of Clay City. Reports from the Illinois State Police revealed that a westbound Toyota Scion traveling on the highway traveled into the eastbound lane of traffic for unknown reasons. The vehicle collided head-on with an International semi-truck head-on at around 1:20 p.m. 

The driver of the Scion suffered fatal injuries in the crash. She was later identified as 35-year-old Jennifer Joyce Black of Evansville, Indiana. The driver of the semi-truck, 63-year-old Gary E. Mugrage of Cisne, Illinois, did not sustain injuries.

An ongoing investigation into the deadly collision is currently underway.
