Clark Co, IL (October 28, 2020) – A head-on collision involving four vehicles left two people injured in Clark County on Monday morning, October 26.

Reports from the Illinois State Police found that a 2007 Pontiac driven by 23-year-old Kathlene Beck was traveling westbound on US-40 when the vehicle veered into oncoming traffic for unknown reasons. At around 8 a.m., the vehicle struck the driver’s side of an eastbound 2019 Freighliner van driven by 64-year-old Michael Jones. The crash caused the van to spin across the centerline and hit a westbound 2014 Honda Accord driven by 51-year-old Arun Odhayamangalam.

A 2013 Honda Civic driven by 30-year-old Nauman Khan was unable to stop and struck the front passenger door of Jones’ van. Both Jones and Odhayamangalam were transported to a nearby medical facility for the treatment of sustained injuries. No further injuries were reported.

Beck was cited for improper lane usage and driving an uninsured vehicle. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is currently in progress.

Our thoughts are with Michael Jones, Arun Odhayamangalam, and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
