Chicago, IL (October 10, 2020) – A man in a wheelchair was injured in a hit-and-run accident in the Lincoln Park area of Chicago on Tuesday, October 6.
Initial reports revealed that the accident occurred on Stockton Drive near Fullerton Parkway. The 25-year-old man was crossing the roadway in a motorized wheelchair with his dog when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle. The vehicle involved in the accident was described as a four-door, red Toyota sedan.
The vehicle fled the scene of the accident after striking the pedestrian. The Toyota reportedly sped away southbound on Stockton Drive. The injured party suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized for treatment.
Authorities are currently seeking information on the identity of the driver. An ongoing investigation into the crash is underway.
