Motorcycle Accidents in Chicago
Motorcyclists are at greater risk of suffering life-threatening injuries in the event of a crash. According to data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, motorcyclists are nearly 27 times more likely to be killed in a collision, and an estimated 80% of motorcycle accidents result in death or injury. Motorcycle fatalities in Illinois are on the rise, increasing from 147 in 2014 to 154 in 2016.
Even though motorcyclists are also misrepresented as careless and reckless, statistics show that motor vehicle drivers are more likely to cause serious motorcycle accidents. These cases involve extensive investigation in order to determine who is at fault for the crash, meaning that an experienced legal team is often necessary to construct a strong case. Injured parties should reach out to a qualified Chicago motorcycle crash attorney to discuss their legal options before pursuing an Illinois personal injury claim for lost damages.
