Trucking Accidents in Chicago

Chicago, IL - Three Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Dan Ryan Expyin Semi-Truck Accident on I-64

Truck drivers are often pressured to meet tight deadlines, causing them to make disastrous mistakes while behind the wheel of a massive big rig. An estimated 5,000 people are killed in collisions involving commercial trucks each year, and the majority of trucking fatalities involve occupants of passenger cars. In 2018, a total of 2,075 people were injured in Illinois semi-truck accidents.

Large semi-trucks can cause catastrophic injuries in the event of a collision with a passenger vehicle. Truck-driver inexperience is a leading cause of deadly commercial vehicle accidents as companies are trying to fill positions due to a shortage of drivers, and this negligence contributes to serious crashes involving 18-wheelers and commercial vehicles. When the negligence of another driver results in a crash, injured victims should consult with an Illinois trucking injury lawyer in order to recover lost compensation by pursuing a personal injury claim.
