Chicago, IL (October 20, 2020) – Three people, including a Chicago Police officer, suffered injuries following a collision in the Roseland area of Chicago on Saturday afternoon, October 17.
The crash reportedly occurred in the 11000 block of Michigan Avenue at around 4:24 p.m. Local sources revealed that an unmarked patrol vehicle with its emergency lights engaged was traveling westbound on 111th Street at the time of the crash. The police vehicle was then struck by a Chevrolet Impala traveling west on Michigan Avenue.
The 23-year-old man and 24-year-old woman traveling in the Impala were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center for the treatment of sustained injuries. The officer was also hospitalized for treatment. The 23-year-old man driving the Impala was cited for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
An ongoing investigation into the accident is currently underway.
