Chicago, IL – Czeslaw Kosman Killed in Bicycle Crash on W Higgins Ave

Chicago, IL (October 25, 2020) – A 78-year-old man on a bike was killed after being struck by a motor vehicle in the Jefferson Park area of Chicago on Friday afternoon, October 23. 

The crash reportedly occurred near the 6200 block of W. Higgins Avenue at around 1:10 p.m. According to local reports, 78-year-old Czeslaw Kosman was traveling by bike when he was hit by a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder. Kosman suffered critical injuries and was taken to Resurrection Medical Center for treatment. 

Kosman was later pronounced dead at the medical facility. The 39-year-old woman driving the Nissan was cited for failure to reduce speed and having no proof of insurance, according to local authorities. No further information on the deadly accident has been provided. 

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is being managed by local law enforcement officials.
