Wayne Co, IL – Jonathan Stanley Killed in Semi Accident on US-45

Wayne Co, IL (September 28, 2020) – A driver was killed in Wayne County after being hit by a semi-truck on Saturday, September 26. 

The collision reportedly occurred on US-45 near County Road 1125N at around 3:52 p.m. that afternoon. According to the Illinois State Police, both the commercial truck and the passenger car were traveling northbound on the highway at the time of the accident. For unknown reasons, the driver of the 18-wheeler, 57-year-old Todd Bosler, collided with the rear of the passenger car, killing the driver. 

The deceased victim was later identified as 36-year-old Jonathan Stanley from Fairfield, Illinois. Stanley suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Bosler was cited for driving too fast for roadway conditions. 

No further updates on the accident are currently available. An ongoing investigation into the crash is in progress.
