Paris, IL (September 7, 2020) – A motorcyclist was killed after being struck by a sport-utility vehicle in Edgar County near Paris on Saturday, September 5. According to local sources, the collision occurred near the intersection of IL-133 and 600 East.
Reports from the Illinois State Police revealed that a motorcycle was traveling southbound on 600 East at the time of the crash. While traveling through the intersection, the rider collided with an eastbound SUV on IL-133. The 32-year-old man from Hume, Illinois operating the motorcycle was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The identity of the deceased victim has not been reported at this time. Local authorities have not yet disclosed the cause of the crash. No further updates on the accident have been provided.
An ongoing investigation into the accident is being managed by local law enforcement officials. More information will be released as it continues.
