Newark, IL (September 1, 2020) – On Sunday, August 30, two people sustained injuries in a motorcycle accident in the Newark area. The crash occurred near the intersection of IL-71 and Townhouse Road at around 2:59 p.m. that afternoon.
Emergency responders and law enforcement officials were called to the site of the crash to render aid to those injured in the collision. Initial revealed that Domingo Fietes and a passenger were traveling by motorcycle southbound on IL-71 at the time of the accident. For unknown reasons, Fietes’ motorcycle sideswiped a vehicle making a left turn onto Townhouse Road.
Both Fietes and his passenger were treated at the scene by Newark Fire Protection District. The severity of the resulting injuries is not known at this time. No updates on the conditions of the injured parties have been provided.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is currently underway.
