Lisle, IL – Driver Killed in Red Light Crash at Naperville & Warrenville Rd

Lisle, IL (September 8, 2020) – A two-vehicle collision near the intersection of Naperville Road and E. Warrenville Road in Lisle Township on Sunday, September 6, resulted in one fatality. 

According to local reports, a 20-year-old was driving a Tesla was traveling a high rate of speed when the vehicle collided with a Jeep. Local sources revealed that the Tesla ran a red light at the intersection. The driver of the Jeep was reportedly making a left turn onto E. Warrenville Road at the time of the crash. 

The Jeep reportedly had a green arrow and the right of way at the time of the collision. The driver of the Tesla was trapped inside the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. At this time, the identity of the deceased victim has not been disclosed. 

The 34-year-old driver of the Jeep was hospitalized for the treatment of sustained injuries. An ongoing investigation into the crash is underway.
