Green Oaks, IL (September 27, 2020) – A woman was killed after being t-boned in a pileup collision in the Green Oaks area on Friday, September 25.
According to initial reports, a 74-year-old woman from Fox Lake, Illinois was traveling in a 2019 Chevrolet Sonic east on IL-137 at the time of the crash. At around 4:40 p.m., the woman slowed down to make a left turn or U-turn onto I-94, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. The passenger side of the Chevy was struck by a westbound 2007 Ford pickup truck.
A man riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle dropped his bike in order to avoid the collision and slid across the roadway. The woman driving the Chevrolet suffered critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The 63-year-old woman driving the Ford was hospitalized for the treatment of serious injuries, and the 36-year-old man riding the motorcycle was also hospitalized.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is currently underway.
